We recently returned from a trip to the City of Summerside, PEI. Both Jim and Heather at On Three have worked with the city for a couple years on their branding and marketing initiatives, and it is incredible to see the growth and development that has taken place in that time.
Our most recent trip was a whirlwind of shooting video and photography for Summerside’s latest projects – the production of advertisements and video spots that will be used in both traditional media as well as social media such as youtube and facebook. We worked closely with our good friend and brilliant photographer Daniel Banko of Banko Photographic.
We got some great stuff and shot some incredible views and facilities, but we were most struck by the people we interviewed. From the kids at the hockey rink to the business leaders in their boardrooms, their passion for the community and their willingness to stand under the lights and speak to the world about Summerside was amazing. It is exactly this kind of ambassadorship that is required to make city branding successful. You can have the greatest brochures and website in the world, but if the people in your community aren’t advocates willing to share their story then even the best campaigns can fall flat.
We’ll be working on the final products in the coming months and will post the outcomes here. Working with a city with this much pride certainly makes our job easier. We can’t wait to share Summerside with you!
